Live-Action Dragonball Z Cast Pics

These pictures are from a Japanese magazine, Roadshow, showing pictures of the crew of the new Live Action Dragonball Z Movie. The prospect of a live-action Dragonball Z movie makes me giggle profusely. I have the live action Dragonball movie, entitled Dragonball The Magic Begins, and it is absolutely ridiculous. The movie is due out in 2009.

The translation from the magazine reads:

Goku - Justin Chatwin
I think it is an honor to play Goku. He is a universal character, as if a reincarnation of Luke Skywalker, really great character to play. Goku always takes action himself, is positive thinking, helps the weak. He had a great influence on myself.

Chi-Chi - Jamie Chung
This movie is the first action movie for me. I’m very proud of my first work in such a large scale. I enjoyed the martial arts training and everyone tried very hard. This movie is sure to be special,

Yamcha - Joon Park
When I was a child, I had a lot of Japanese friends, I was familiar with Dragonball’s characters. Manga is a part of my life. Yamcha is an ironic and humorous character. He talks tough, but actually he is soft and a little weak on the inside. Please pay attention to his change through the journey.

Bulma is very funky, sexy and strong-minded, a wonderful character. I’m very happy to be able to play this role. I feel responsible for this role because there are many fan of the original manga. We are working hard to please the fans.

Master Roshi - Chow Yun-Fat
Master Roshi is a very funny guy. Anyway… he’s funny (laugh) Indeed, it is my first time in my career to play a manga character like this. Normally I can’t play a 300 year old man, but I enjoy playing this role. The director is doing good job, I think he mixes Eastern and Western culture well.

Dragonball is the best-seller manga from Weekly Shonen Jump. Original manga is made up of 42 volumes in a epic story. The animation has aired overseas, and has hardcore fans all over the world. But how will they make it into a movie ?

“Original manga is definitely a classic. Due to time constraints, I’m sorry I can’t adopt all the wonderful things from the original, but I’m happy I’m involved in this movie and I think it turned out well. I think the manga readers will find [many] things they have liked in the manga, that is, the spirit of the original,” director James Wong said.

New Heroes Cast Promos

NBC just released character promos for their new season, entitled Villains, airing September 22nd. Enjoy:

Stargate Atlantis to end; Stargate Universe set to begin

You know, I really hate when a tv show I'm getting into gets cancelled as I'm catching up. It happened with The 4400, and now, Stargate Atlantis is coming to a close. I seriously just started watching it and, to this moment, am at the halfway point of season 4, so close to beginning this season, then this news comes...

As you've suspected, Stargate Atlantis will be coming to a close at the end of this season, 5, which is about a quarter way done already. Afterwards, in 2009, a 2-hour movie will air to close up any loose ties, as Stargate SG1 did with their back to back movies Ark Of Truth and Continuum. The movie will be aired on Sci-Fi Channel and set straight to DVD. Season 5 is set to end on a cliffhanger, which will air in January of '09, which will lead into the movie.

On a more somber note, co-creators Wright and Cooper have pitched a new Stargate spinoff called Stargate Universe which has been given a greenlight for production. The general idea for this concept is the Ancients sent automated ships millions of years ahead to newer galaxies to seed star gates. Though the ancients never saw the fruition of this project, we'll get to, by use of a ninth chevron to access these new worlds.

Admittedly, it sounds like a whole lot of the same thing from SG1 to Atlantis. However, I'm a huge fan of this whole series, so I'm sure, unless it's horribly crappy, that I'll be an avid viewer of this program.

Heroes News: Mohinder and Maya Together w TV Guide Scans

More here in the Heroes news front, scans from a recent TV guide with an article stating Mohinder and Maya are going to be getting pretty close in the upcoming season. "Our show is geared towards the young, male audience. I think they're ready for some sex. And who better than me?" Says Ramirez in the article.

Alright, the character of Maya has some issues. First she gets all lovey-dovey with a serial killer, though unbeknownst to her, and then she starts getting freaky with a man who she just met? What's more, if you've seen my post with the first 15 minutes of the first episode which was aired at Comic-Con, they don't seem to be getting along off the bat that well that they'd be jumping into each other's pants. This girl has some issues.... though I wont object to seeing a bit more of her being sexy, I do love Dania Ramirez.

Jermaine Clement gets married

Congrats to Jermaine Clement of the band and tv show Flight of the Conchords for getting hitched recently to long-time girlfriend and actress Miranda Manasiadis in Los Angeles. It was a small gathering at the registry office along with family and Bret McKenzie, his bandmate.

More great news on the Conchord front, the duo is getting ready to head to New York City to begin filming a second season of their hit HBO show. Here's a great clip from their first season:

Isla Fischer and Sasha Baron Cohen at the beach

Sasha Baron Cohen, Borat, along with Isla Fischer and their baby were at the beach recently. Fischer, doing lots of cartwheels and other goofy stunts, was amusing her cute little baby that day. Fischer looks great for just having a kid, check out the beauty along with Cohen and child below.

Oh how I get giddy like a school boy when I find new pictures of K-Bell! Here are some pics of the lovely Elle from Heroes with some dude named Dax Shepard at the beach. I am oh-so-jealous of him... lol
