Johnny Rotten Slams Guitar Hero 3 Among Other Things

Johnny Rotten, lead singer of the Sex Pistols, was asked to speak at the release part for Guitar Hero 3, sponsored by the Official Xbox 360 Magazine. Things start off well, but go astray after just a short time.

Johnny then starts to bash the game, telling people it shows how not to act, and to not pursue the life of a rock star, insisting it's all "rubbish".

He goes on to ramble about other things not related to the game, in one instance yelling at someone "I AM ENGLAND!".

The old punk-rocker in me is loving his display of angst against Guitar Hero and everything it stands for, though I love playing the game itself. This video reminds me of an interview Jack Black and Kyle Gass did for their movie Pick Of Destiny. In it, Jack was playing Guitar Hero 2 with the interviewer on G4, and Kyle kept bashing the game, telling viewers to not waste their time and learn a real instrument.

It's so true, but Guitar Hero is just so much easier.

Oh Guitar Hero 3, How I Want You To Rock My Face Off

So I've heard nothing but rave reviews about this Guitar Hero 3 game. I was hanging out with a friend this weekend and he went on about the songs and the difficulty, so I'm intrigued.

Given, I have 1 and 2 already, and the only reason I haven't gotten the 80's edition is because of the reduced number of songs and the lack of extras. But I will once it's a bit cheaper. But this one is supposed to have a great track listing, including one of my favorite bands, Tenacious D.

I'm going to head out to Best Buy in a bit to finally join the craze that is this Guitar Hero phenomena, but in the meantime, how is everyone else liking this game? And how does it compare to Rock Band, though I'm not that interested in dropping all that money and devoting a room to one game.

I'll post again later on with my review.
