New Slusho Commercial for Cloverfield

So this new "commercial" has been released for Slusho. Slusho, of course, is the mystery slushie cup that made a special appearance in Heroes, as a hidden advertisement for the upcoming JJ Abrams movie Cloverfield.

This new commercial is a bit... strange. It follows suit with most of the Japanese commercials I've seen on the internet. But it's just, so odd, and gives absolutely nothing away for the movie. At least not at first glance.

This movie's advertising is going on such wierd tangents, its hard to speculate if it's going to be good, or just some random piece of garbage. Only time will tell I suppose.

Heroes/Cloverfield Crossover? The Secret Of Slusho

Apparently, these pictures which appeared on Greg Beeman's blog this morning have a purpose, more so than the crew just being goofy behind the scenes. This "Slusho" cup is supposed to have significance to the upcoming film Cloverfield, created by JJ Abrams. JJ and Tim Kring, the creator of Heroes, have a history together, and it appears that he threw in a subtle Slusho reference in the background of last night's episode as an omage to his friend and his new movie. The crew also took these pictures for some obscure promotion, though as of right now they're keeping their mouths shut.

If you remember the first trailer released for Cloverfield, back when it was untitled, there was a Slusho reference thrown in there. Whether the actual brand/cup/slushie drink is to hold some kind of significant role in the movie is yet to be seen. However, it's probably just some strange cross-promotion. Regardless, it gives me another excuse to post pictures of the ever-beautiful Hayden and Kristin.

New Cloverfield Trailer (HD Quality)

Finally the new Cloverfield trailer has been released in HD on the apple trailer website. It was floating around the internet recently, but only in a format recorded by hand-held camera in theatres, which killed the quality. I'm still not completely sure what the hell this movie is about aside from NYC being obliterated, but it looks pretty sweet. I like the method behind the plot, a guy recording his account of what's going on through his hand-held. Hopefully JJ Abrams has made a solid film here and it wont be another god-awful flop like The Day After Tomorrow or the new King Kong movie.
