The Wizard of Oz will always hold a special place in my heart. It was one of my favorite movies as a child, and then returning there as an adult re-watching it. In recent news, the last 7 surviving Munchkins from the movie have just been awarded a spot on the Walk Of Fame in California.
The ceremony, which happens on Tuesday, will commemorate the Walk Of Fame's 2,352 star, with proceeds going towards the Hollywood Heritage Museum. When the guests of honor arrive at Grauman's, word on the street is they will be led there by a carriage led by a Hollywood High School marching band for the unveiling.
Joey Luft, the son of the movie's star Judy Garland, is set to speak at Grauman's Chinese Theatre. In attendance will be Jerry Maren, part of the Lollipop Guild; Mickey Carroll, the Town Crier; Margaret Pellegrini, one of the Sleepy Heads; Karl Slover, the Main Trumpeter; Meinhardt Raabe, the coroner; and Clarence Swensen, a Munchkin soldier.
